What we stock for prep, painting and clean-up

We carry the everyday supplies a painting or decorating project runs on. Come in and tell us what you are working on, and we will point you at the right ones.

Brushes

An assorted wall and sash range, for cutting precise lines and laying smooth, even coats.

Roller cages and refills

Cages plus refills from 5mm to 31mm nap, so the roller matches the texture you are covering.

Trays, liners, buckets and poles

Trays and tray liners, painter buckets and bucket liners, and extension poles for ceilings and stairwells.

Painter's tape

For crisp, clean edges without bleed-through, in the widths the job actually calls for.

Surface preparation

Spackling, sandpaper, drywall tape and Ready Strip, for taking a surface back before you start.

Drop cloths and tarps

Canvas and plastic, to keep floors, furniture and everything else clear of spatter.

Adhesives and spray

Wood glue, Goop and assorted spray paints, for the repairs and small jobs that come up mid-project.

Rags and clean-up

Painter's rags and the everyday clean-up supplies that are always the thing you forget.

Safety gear

Gloves and protection, so a day of painting stays a day of painting.

The questions we get asked most.

Consider the paint type, surface, and desired finish. Natural bristles work well with oil-based paints, while synthetic are best for latex. We'll guide you to the best choice for your specific needs.

Nap size refers to the thickness of the roller cover's fibres. Shorter naps (3/8" or less) are for smooth surfaces, while longer naps (1/2" to 3/4") are for semi-rough to rough surfaces like stucco or textured walls.

Yes, good painter's tape is designed for clean, sharp lines and easy, residue-free removal. Regular masking tape often leaves sticky residue or allows paint to bleed underneath, ruining your edges.

Beyond paint, always have good quality painter's tape, drop cloths, a stir stick, a paint can opener, and a cleaning cloth. Depending on the project, you might also need a scraper or sandpaper.
